The word - GOD have two meanings 1. as God in pleurisy ALOHIM ... Does anybody know what the word "pleurisy" means in this sentence? Is there a second definition of the word that I and my dictionary aren't aware of?

Hildago: well, 'Alohim,' one of the Hebrew words for God, is plural. So that, I guess, is what they mean. Although that paragraph stands out as incredibly stupifying. Apparently, the Russian word for God is 'Bog.'

Oh, geez. See especially their 'letters to the world,' several fever-pitch screeds to Bush, Sharon, Blair, etc. The part where they send a floor-plan of Lenin's tomb to Tony Blair is a highlight. But the best is the very last letter: To The President of The United States of America, White House, Washington DC. USA. Dear George W. Bush I am very glad to inform you, that I'm sending the application forms to the Immigration Department and I hope to receive two Green Cards for me and for my wife. So, may I ask you to help me in that matter, because my heart is for American people and my wish is that our Almighty God will bless The United States richly. I also would like to ask your Government to give us any kind of support, in order to work with The Rock-Band. With respect to you, God bless you. Valery & Tanya Barinov. These guys are awesome.

How funny! I see Valery is still at it. I spent 6 mos as his bassist, back in '88 or so, he was planning to tour Russia. Paid all my expenses and stuff, so my full time gig was his bassist. In the end, he failed to get sufficient funding and the whole thing went belly up. But it was a fun experience. For the record, I'm agnostic, but didn't have a problem being in a Christian rock band. Especially when it was paying my bills. :D

Apparently, the Russian word for God is 'Bog.' This could be true. Research shows this to be reported elsewhere... An interesting but unimportant fact about the noun "gad" is that it is pronounced like the American English (but not British-English) word "God", just like the Hebrew word for God sounds like the English word "ale", the British-English word "God" sounds like American-English "goad", the Russian word for God sounds like the British-English word "bog", the German word for God sounds like the English word "goat", etc. Human languages are full of such interesting but meaningless coincidences. It is still incredibly funny, though. This whole site is deeply amusing. It reminds me of post-soviet surrealist literature, somehow, wacky but not superficial... I bet God is so embarrassed. Ha!
