A couple years ago, they did SILENCE! the musical version of Silence of the lambs, now they're working on "RoboCop The Musical" with this track uploaded as a preview entitled "Murphy, It's You" performed by RoboCop and Anne Lewis.

I have been waiting for this since 1987.

From "SILENCE!", Track 6: "Put the Fucking Lotion in the Basket" - Buffalo Bill and Catherine

Brilliant.

This is great. Thanks! In fact, I'm editing the sound on my VHS copy of ROBOCOP to have this as the closing credits music as we speak.

I can't see how you would dance "The Robot" to that tune, much less the entire musical.

This is either the best thing ever or a sign of the End Times. I get a "Stop the Planet of the Apes, I Want to Get Off" vibe from The Simpsons. Is it wrong that I can't stop coming up with my own lyrics for other songs from the show?

When I drive down the street
I can hear them holler:
I'd buy that
for a dollar!

You've come to make me dead
But let me shout these simple tones:
I work for... Dick Jones!"

At last, a musical that me and my pet rabbit can attend with pride.

He's even trying to bribe me into getting tickets!

ps - I'm looking forward to "The Melting Guy Shuffle."

the fact that track is so close to the sound of a "real" (i.e. in earnest) musical should tell producers of these shlockfests that the end is nigh.
but then, if "Phantom" didn't do it in, nothing will, I guess...:)

Clarence: "I had to kill Bob Morton!"
Hired Goons : "Kill Bob Morton?"
C: "Kill Bob Morton! - He made a mistake!"
Goons: "What'll ya do?"
C: "Erase that mistake!"
All, in chorus: "Now it's time to erase that mistake!"

This is so very, very good.

Dammit. I made a mistake. Dick Jones said that, not CB. Unlike Bob Morton, however, I'd actually like my mistake to be erased...

How can they make a friggin' musical out of the movie that so profoundly disturbed me at the age of fourteen? I think my childhood ended during the part where they shoot his hand off.

Who goes to see this crap, anyway?

I listen to my copy of Silence! regularly. If they had a live version on ice I would go every night. I'm so glad Jon & Al are at it again.

If I ever had to pick a film that summed up the direction people thought the world was moving in the 80s, I would choose Robocop. And now it's a musical!

Dick Jones: You can't touch me, remember directive four!
OCP Board (points at Dick): He can just get up and walk out the door!
Dick Jones: Look at you Robo, you're old and you're tired!
Robo: Must... obey.. directive...ffo
The Old Man: Dick Jones! YOU'RE FIRED!

"They blew your arm off and they shot you in the head!"

Grim scene becomes funny when set to music.

Can somebody stop this musical thing? Please please please please please. It was funny when it was Elephant!, the musical version of The Elephant Man in The Tall Guy from 1989. It was funny when South Park the Movie ripped off Les Mis. But now it's been done. Stop it. Please stop it. It keeps happening because it's easy.

.....Orrrr, alternatively, because it's funny. Just a guess.
