Has the BlogHop self rating thing gotten out of hand? Seems like every blog I visit these days has the color stripe (except mine of course).

No. It's actually been an interesting experiment for me. 5 of my 7 blogs have the rating thing. One of them has recieved a large number of ratings (at first due to an accident at the bloghop end) but the others have been given very few ratings. I would say that this suggests that people don't click through as much as I would have expected.

In my experience, these weblog toys are quite faddish. They're heavily used while people are finding the toy and experimenting, but forgotten later on. The obvious ballot-stuffing by that U2-not-even-a-weblog site sorta turned me off.

All I know is that my graphics are on hundreds of blogs around the world and that's cool!

I should have added that I created the colored icons that Bloghop is now using for their rating system.

I don't use the graphics on all of mine. On 8 Facts I decided to make them match my (admitedly shambolic) colour scheme.

eh, I put it on my blog. What the heck. I don't seem to be getting many ratings, but I got my first "the worst" the other day. Good to know I'm pissing someone off!

Bloghop listed my site without me submitting, which is cool, but I'm not into the rating thing. I haven't even linked to them-I guess I should...
