Another similar site: 3D Fight Club. It's more about little challenges -- make a lightbulb in a day or less, make a gun in two hours or less -- and not as serious.

If you like this sort of thing I recomend buwing the books from ballistic. The expose books are particularly good. I always start the damn challenges but have never finished one :) The amount of work that is put into these is amazing, I think the prizes are well deserved.
