Who determines what's good news? And how does that network have a sports division? I get happy when I read that the Yankees have lost, but there are millions of people who don't. Isn't "good news" too subjective to devote an entire network to reporting it? Also, I watched some of the clips on the site. They're kidding, right?

I've heard this has been tried before, and failed miserably. Though come to think of it, I can't think of any specific examples; could just been the assumption it would fail has turned itself into a story.

I actually compiled and installed the Mplayer plugin whilst under the impression that this was worth the effort. How disappointing. Still, I can use it to see video on other pages, so I guess it's not a total loss.

Interesting concept, sort of like the Stepford News. This raises an interesting question...what does the general public really want from news--truth or sensation? Do we want the honest, uncensored truth that many people don't feel is safe for broadcast ("there'll be a panic"), or do we want a bunch of stuff blowing up and people dying and in court and murdered, or do we want perkiness and human interest stories?

There's a novel that has a character start an all good news television station. It's very creepy. Judith Michael, I think? One of those Danielle Steelesque types I used to read in high school, anyway. I remember the cover had and orange, fire-like sky on it.

I don't watch the news anymore. Too depressing and, as I'm really busy, I've got better things to do. But I was invisaging this the other day, watching the news and only seeing happy stories. Lottery winners, pets saved/retrieved, the enviroment given priority etc. Highly unlikely. And the site bites.
