This is a bear hello!

wtf??? I swear the bear voice sounded like Iggy Pop. Kind of.

But seriously, wtf? That was like David Lynch and Happy Tree Friends collaborating.

Don Hertzfeldt called and wants his style back.

That was pretty surreal.. reminds me of.. well, anything by the master of surreal, David Lynch.

oh my dear god. it's like Akira, but more so, with stick people.

I liked it.

Eerie.

Also, "HI!"

W. T. F.

That is all.

i don't think that was really necessary. i mean, we've all been to the internet, right?

I think I'd prefer WolfDaddy's version of a bear hello.
posted by BoringPostcards at 6:26 AM on June 2, 2005

Some might also like Puppy Whirl, which is the sequel or something.

oh shit. that's fantastic. :D

...and I think I'd prefer a beer hello. At least that's what I drank after watching this ... whatever. HAPPY OLEOBUTTERFAT INVITATION TO AVERAGE LIZARD WAR. That's kinda catchy. Now I just need to learn flash and voila! Art!

I loved it. Pretty much summed up my day.
posted by fungible at 9:01 AM on June 2, 2005

If you liked that, you'll love this. (NSFW). Less confusing but far creepier stuff - check out Salad Fingers in particular.

I love that people can just create some stupid nonsense and then people pretend it's a deep work of surreal art.
posted by norm at 9:38 AM on June 2, 2005

I like people who think 1/6 comparisons to something that may or may not be "a deep work of surreal art" commends the use of the plural "people"--as in, "people pretend it's a deep work of surreal art."

I really liked this, but yeah, the guy's a Don Hertzfeldt devotee.

This also reminded me of Natalie Dee.

I'm really glad they had subtitles, because I'm at work and I don't have a sound card.

Also. Sweet.
posted by delmoi at 12:19 PM on June 2, 2005

delmoi, I think that's an asset for this flash, as the audio was horrible an uncompressed. funny how I also thought of David Lynch while watching it. I was reaching for the Control-W to close the tab when it ended, mercifully.

Terrific-o-mundo! And the sequel's good, too.

That Fat Pie link just leads to a pay porno site...

I think THIS is what FatLankyBastard meant to link to.

At least people can understand what the fuck I'm talking about.

Let me try again norm:
at the time you posted that, only 6 people had compared this to anything, and only one of them had mentioned david lynch in any way that might be reverential.

in other words, no one thinks this is a profound surrealist work--then again, I think david lynch is a wanker, so a hearty "fuck fuckity fuck" to you too.
