Brilliant in its elegant simplicity.
Must get cat.

Wow, the one covered in toy dinosaurs looks like it is about to go absolutely apeshit.

Funny stuff.

I love the baby on the cat. And the big-ass jars of stuff. Why don't they wake up? WAKE UP!

This is wonderful.

We've really come a long way in 42659 posts.

does anyone read the posts down here?

No.

I think people especially like to put stuff on cats because they SOOO will not put up with that crap when they are awake. It is our one chance to show that we are the dominant species, if only for a fleeting moment.

Too bizarre - I was just looking at this site, came back here, stuck it in orthogonality's toxoplasmosis fpp and then saw it posted by #1.

Why don't they wake up?

They're awake. They just have too much pride to express their annoyance by walking away.

Now we need Oolong in a scanner with stuff on him. Matt?
posted by gramschmidt at 10:33 AM on June 10, 2005

Much better than Stuff In My Cat.com (no, it doesn't exist and shouldn't).

Perhaps they should add an after section so that, when the cat does go apeshit as fire&wings notes, we'd be able to enjoy the carnage.
posted by fenriq at 10:41 AM on June 10, 2005

The fact that you can put stuff on cats and that occasionally they act like they like you just tips the balance past the fact that they fill up a box with piss and shit in my hot ass apartment.
posted by Divine_Wino at 10:42 AM on June 10, 2005

I love the ones that have no "theme" and, instead, are just...piles of random junk.

Our cat escaped into the suburban wilds for a 24-hour period...randomly showing up back in our yard as if nothing happend (he's a fat, declawed cat that shouldn't ever be outside...we thought he was gone for good)...but based on this uncanny resemblance, it looks like he just needed some "alone with some salisbury steak time."

Which is understandable...

I have never attempted to stuff a cat. I wouldn't even know where to start. In fact, I don't think I agree with it.

..I'm so overwhelmed by the cuteness of the cats under the things that the things don't even matter..

..except for the jar. That's just weird.

What would be even more interesting: Pictures of scratched people after they have put stuff on cats

Mmmm. Those eggs look good.

When I saw that I totally thougt to myself, dude if that cat wakes up and dips out and spills your tasty looking breakfast you are going to be so pissed that you ever thought it would be clever to put stuff on your cat and photograph it. On the other hand, it would be an almost perfect self-contained life lesson and all it would cost you would be a couple eggs, a patty, home fries and a clean up, which is pretty cheap.

Try to avoid scanning the Cat's genitals. We really don't need to see Fluffy's junk up close and personal.

I've certainly got stuff, I just need a cat...

Perhaps the cats are engineering parasites to keep us from doing crap like this, but they'll never win. We're far too easily amused to stop.

Also a good idea: cats in hats. They really like this. Honest.

I have never stacked stuff on my cats. It never occurred to me. But now: oddly alluring, potentially addictive... must resist...

Pancake?

[I posted this over on orthogonality's thread in response to peacay's post, but it really belongs here. It's not Oolong, but it is a pancake.]
posted by caddis at 12:11 PM on June 10, 2005

I was stacking stuff on my cat just this past weekend to amuse my friends. I have a pretty grouchy cat, but once he's down on the floor and purring, it he doesn't seem to care what I put on him.

I need to submit pictures to this website, obviously.

bjgeiger, thanks for that!

Wasn't there a site about kitty bonsai a while ago? Basically stuffing kittens into jars or something? Ah yes, BonsaiKitten.com, shame the site's dead. Actually, no its not.

Strangely, my husband does not like these pictures at all--he feels that it is making fun of the cats--disrespecting them.

I disagree. :)

caddis: no offense taken.

It seems to me that it is just one of many options of saying "that was really funny." I suppose I could just type OMGOMGROFLLMAOWTF or "I spit milk on my monitor," but those seem so 20th century. I guess [this is funny] would work, but that wouldn't have singled out i_cola's comment. Anyhow, it is a stupid statement, but deliberately so, and for a good cause.

Specifically, for the cause of cats peeing in our milk.
