The singing StarWars Storm Trooper Nerd

I can see this guy quickly becoming the next StarWars Kid. Nothing makes me laugh more then a nerd, singing how he is a nerd in a Star Wars storm trooper costume, in front of a Star Trek flag.

do we even NEED another "Star Wars Kid"? Did we need the FIRST one....?

I'm gonna pass on clicking on a link to another foolish adolescent, I bet he's already found enough people to make fun of him.

And... as for your comment "Nothing makes me laugh more then a nerd, singing how he is a nerd in a Star Wars storm trooper costume, in front of a Star Trek flag.".... xistboi, we really need to widen the scope of your exposure to humor.... :-\

The best part about the star wars kid was his after-the-fact threats to sue the internet for emotional trauma or somesuch. (al gore?)

Frater quonsar's erudite homily adverts to all the salient characteristics which interlopers ought give pause to contemplate here.

Eh, I know a couple that had a Star Trek wedding. They had the 'captain' of their club send out for one of those mail order ordinaments and he performed the ceremony. My geek-meter has pretty much been redlined for years. Stuff like this just doesn't even ping.

Self-link. xistboi's digg account lists uneasysilence.com as his home page, and the FPP text is copy-and-pasted directly from the post in question.

this isn't funny, clever or ironic. it is contrived obviousness. lame.
posted by Shike at 6:58 AM on June 13, 2005

This is nothing like the star wars kid.

The whole point was that the star wars kid did what he did for himself. He was not recording something blatantly self-conscious intended for Internet distribution.

It's not unlike astroturfing or some such. If someone has something that's a real gem, that they made for themselves, it's more special when it's shared than some event that was set up.

Karmakaze, that wedding. Were you there on my (now ex-) wife's side, or mine?

this is astroturfing

Oh, BUSTED. And your own blog post is even horrible. You took a movie from someone else's site, and stuck it on your own, with ZERO attribution, and for no other purpose but to mock him. Did I miss anything?

Way to go. Who's the lamer here, again?

this is not only lame, but I suspect that this guy is xistboi, and that he's looking for some kind of internet infamy on purpose. this sucks.

"I can see this quickly becoming the next Stwar Wars Kid."

I don't think so. The Star Wars kid was someone who created a video for private viewing, this guy seems to have intentionally made this video public, so he wont be making any suicide attempts or anything like that. The Star Wars Kid wasn't trying to funny or anything, he wasn't celebrating loserness, that's what made him such a huge story. This singing Star Trooper will make his rounds on some blogs, but it wouldn't even garner a fraction of the attention the Star Wars Kid received, because there's no story behind the video, it's just another humor piece.

The song is great, but it could use more cowbell. Guess what... I got a fever. And the only prescription, is more cowbell.

Okay, I've said it. Time to move on.

crap... I really hate to post this, 'cuz it could be the next "star wars kid (s)" (except that Lord Vader is in tennis shoes and Anakin is wearing a baseball hat, and the final battle seems to take place in a florida suburb)
posted by HuronBob at 7:32 AM on June 13, 2005

Wow. We got this far without some dorkus banging on about how baaaaaad Star Wars [insert random number between 1 & 6] is.

But good detective work people...move along now &c.

Nothing makes me laugh more than a bozo getting called out and mocked on MetaFilter because he posted a self-link to his own blog in the hopes that nobody would notice. My day is now worthwhile.

Before this thread is destroyed, I would just like to puke all over myself, and then link to the results.

First, I must eat many pancakes with rabbit fur.

Standby.

Way to lose $5, xistboi!

Plutor has a deerstalker, a pipe and a fat sidekick who serves as a convenient plot device allowing all the recently solved mysteries to be explained at length.

Hey Matt [knock knock knock] you ok in there? Did you fall in?

So anyway, while I've got your attention, I'd just like to tell you all about me. I'm the next Star Wars Kid. I'm gonna be so famous for doing some whacky shit and videotaping it. It's gonna be so cool. But I won't forget you all. No way.

Oh, and Xistboi, explain this
. . .
Yeah, I thought so

It's not all that bad -- I didn't find it that funny, probably because I'd sound funnier if I sang and played guitar.
