When Godel (the famous mathematician/logician) was applying for US citizenship he studied the US Consistution with the same zeal he applied to his work. He finally worked out that the constitution was logically consistent with a dictatorship and told Einstein, who suggested he didn't raise that point at the interview...
You have to know what definition he was using for a dictatorship for that statement to have any meaning. Unless we define terms and accept some axioms(as Godel would agree) all statements are meaningless. posted by dcodea at 1:59 AM on November 16, 2000
