Oregon cat born with two faces

I'd call it Zaphod. A kitten has been born with one brain, one skull, but two faces. Picture here.

Weird. I was staring at Drudge when he posted this yesterday, trying to see anything in that picture and not being able to make it out. That enlarged one really sends it home.

I for one welcome our-- ah, fuck it.

I call it "Drudge Report"!

I get stranger things than this in my breakfast cereal.

"If she makes it, she should be a perfectly normal and healthy cat. Other than having two faces."

Talk about burying the lede. "She's perfectly normal, except for that massive deformity part."

This is, indeed, good news for the insane. Poor kitty, she's wierd looking but cute.

Does it smoke?

No, but its mom did.

Normally I like looking at anomalies, but some of these kitties freaked me right the fuck out and made me feel sad.

Bluetear has been breeding different kinds of animals, starting with dogs, since 1980. Roughly three years ago, she discovered a litter of smaller than normal kittens she calls "miniature cats."

Gemini was born to a miniature mother and a full-size father.

Perhaps I'm being rash, but I think this woman exemplifies the worst type of breeder. Here is an interesting (if somewhat lengthy) synopsis on the ethics of selective breeding.

wow, the poor thing actually manages to look even less endearing than a cat with the normal number of faces.

Just submitted to KittenWar.
I really shouldn't have.

Zaphod had two entire, separate heads, no? For one head but two faces, maybe Janus would be a better name.
posted by alumshubby at 10:49 AM on June 17, 2005

Ugh. Well, it's a cat. It won't know what a freak it is and it will make maximum use of both mouths (and I presume, sets of teeth) to nip at you if you do the slightest thing it doesn't like.

I'd call it Zaphod.

Best. Link text. Ever.

At least its owner can find some sad satisfaction in the fact that Gemini can actually beat itself at Kitten War.

If it has one brain, that's one more brain than Zaphod Beeblebrox.

Haven't we all seen pictures of a two-faced cat before, or am I the only one who has seen large numbers of animal and human deformity photos?

I didn't think it was possible for a kitten to not be cute.

How very, very wrong I was.

(plexiwatt, A+ for you if that's a Transmetropolitan reference!)

Does it smoke?

That was my first thought. That kitty's going to be leaving dead lizards in Spider Jerusalem's shoes before you know it.

Hey, the kitten is from Roseburg, Oregon. It's the town that brought us Aryan Justice.

Damn it!

Still, I'd hit it.

'Cause if I did I could say I had sex with a two headed cat.

Did I type this out loud?
