Queeny gets six-gigabyte silver iPod. "The newspaper suggested Abba's 'Dancing Queen' and 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' by Tears for Fears might be on the royal iPod."

Damn, her six gig iPod holds 10,000 songs? My 20 gig only holds about 4400 songs. WTF?

And what in the fuck is "dab hand"?

Not "God save the Queen"? (Sex pistols version of course)

on preview - she is royalty, and dab hand in British for 'very expert and quick at doing something'

Doesn't the Queen refer to herself in the plural?

If so it should be a silver 6GB wePod...

Nothing by Queen?
How about Prince?
How about The Kings?

Clearly the Queen encodes at 64kbps. (or someone at AFP doesn't know the difference between 6 and 60)

And since when have they made a 6gb model? I thought it was 1, 5, 10, 20, and 40 gb?
posted by loquacious at 2:11 PM on June 17, 2005

Yep, the only way I could figure getting 10,000 songs is if she's recording songs at like 8kbps. Which would make sense since she's used to those old hand crank turntables right?

I wonder if she'll steal music the same way George Bush did?

Maybe they're all really short Hardcore songs.

The new iPod mini comes in a 6 GB size. But even Apple says it holds only 1500 songs.

Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl, but she doesn't have a lot to say.

pendevil now owes me a new Dr. Pepper...and a nose job. Ow.

Maybe it was a typo, they meant 1000 songs? It seems proper copyediting is mostly going by the wayside nowadays, so it wouldn't surprise me if they'd added in an extra zero and no one caught it.

For the love of all that is holy, 1.5 seconds of Googling could tell you the answer to this. We Brits have to learn US terms we aren't familiar with, now please do the same.

Yes, you Brits do have to learn US terms you aren't familiar with because if you don't then we'll come over and pound the snot out of you. Just ask George. And yes, I am just kidding. I actually knew what dab hand meant when I asked it, I just thought it was a very queer term to use.

By the way, I love it when Brits are visiting to US and mistakenly call someone a cunt, priceless doesn't even begin to cover it.

And there I was hoping that we'd get to see a photo of an actual, *real silver* iPod mini. You know, her being Royal, and all.

Damn.

fenriq - I'm assuming the Brit definition of cunt isn't the same as the N.Am. version; so... what does the Brit version mean (there's simply too much noise to google, just saying.)

If you think that's funny, watch closely when a Brit is introduced to the concept of a "fanny pack."

Not to mention these guys, although they're from Chicago.

cunt means vagina in the UK, as it does in the US. Except us Brits use it more because we're more advanced at swearing.

someone probably called fenriq a stupid cunt, was overhead, and ended up explaining we used it as a term of endearment.
