"Tempe decided to leave Tibet inorder to continue his religious training. He had been in Dharamsala about a month and was actually planning to begin a life-long solitary retreat the day after this photo was taken. He said his retreat was not to escape from the world but to transform his mind so he could serve more effectively in future lifetimes."
Check out Phil Borges' Tibetan photos.

My first reaction is that the beauty lies more in their faces than the overly sanitized tweaking of Phil's portrait style. Sorry for being a bit negative as the subject matter speaks for itself, just a little too Cosmo vs. Katmandu

They all creep me out (and not just the tibetan ones). WTF?! Quite an odd style he's got.

yeah, i felt a bit mean spirited when i looked at the link before seeing this page, so I'm lad it wasn't just me that felt the pictures were somehow distasteful. It struck me that these people had been completely sanitized and photoshopped to fit some kind of strange corporate image. They look like they'd do well in an image library somewhere, where they could be used to decorate someone's annual report. Or on a motivational poster.
