Funny! Thanks. Sadly, the audio was fuzzy on my cheap speakers, so my pronunciation of those phrases will be awful. posted by tweak at 12:32 AM on June 21, 2005
aaah, I'm sorry, forgot about the whole entity-translation thing not equaling what you see in preview. Just meant [this is good] in Russian. posted by greasepig at 2:45 AM on June 21, 2005
It would be [better] if the Russian were correct. But I guess it's hard to be funny and accurate at the same time. posted by languagehat at 5:49 AM on June 21, 2005

It's been 6 years since I had Russian...what's wrong w/ the phrases offered? We need to know, man! :-) posted by graymouser at 6:27 AM on June 21, 2005
For starters, the letters are all weird-looking! posted by odinsdream at 6:44 AM on June 21, 2005
For starters, 'in Mexico' is v Meksike, not "v Mekhiko" (it would help if I could use Cyrillic, but we know how that turns out; anyway, the x letter in Russian represents the kh sound, not ks). Mekhiko is a Russian word, but it means 'Mexico City,' and even if you meant 'in Mexico City' it would be v Mekhike, not "v Mekhiko."
I noticed other errors as I went through the site, but I'm not about to waste another chunk of my life going through it again taking notes. Just treat it as a clever joke site, not an actual Russian lesson. posted by languagehat at 6:59 AM on June 21, 2005
I caught the "x" problem, but didn't realize the missing declension was wrong. I just figured they'd treat it as a fixed borrow-word, like "metro." posted by solotoro at 4:16 PM on June 21, 2005
