Hell. With all the religious postings to mefi lately, why don't we just bring one discussion point out into the open. If you don't buhleeeve in Jeezuz, this is where you will go.

This post was deleted for the following reason: lame

Jesus / Mohammed / God worship subverts its converts into a fixed modality whereby the natural whims and desires of the individual is subverted in favor of a protected and metered approach.

We can't all be anarchists. seriously, we can't.

Only people from Kansas who teach evolution will go to hell.

newfers: take a step back. those types of pages *aren't* created for the likes of you. they are for the backwoods born again christian ex-druggie type.

i was, however, suprised to learn that your mothers computer monitor has the fiery text image "HELL" burned into her monitor.

"Hey guys, I have this CRAZY friend who believes in Hell. Isn't that CRAZY?"

C'mon, this doesn't even pass muster as far as "Let's sit around and mock religion" posts go. Total weak sauce.

I'm distressed that my RealPlayer won't play that audio recording of the screaming of tormented souls in Hell.

Cool. That's the first time I've heard of an account of a near-death experience of hell. Yet I've heard bucketloads of near-death ascending-tunnel-of-light stories.

Thus it's hard not to conclude that firstly, almost everyone goes to heaven (Yay!) - hell is a rare sentence, and secondly, that non-Christians get into heaven too.

Of course, my numbers are probably skewed by the barbs on the tips of those tridents that devils carry - once they have one of those in your flesh, you can't escape and resuscitation will fail. whereas angel's hands are so clean as to be slippery, thus souls more easily get pulled back into the realm of the living. Thus I conclude that plenty of people go to hell, we just don't hear about it as often.

Or something. :-/

I think that the perfect idea of Hell would be more psychological than physical. Not everyone will respond to physical torment and torture, but suppose Hell is actually more amoebic in nature, and appears different ways to different people? So for example, it could be:

--a waiting room with rude children whose parents don't mind them and your least favorite kind of music being piped in

--a really boring/dangerous party that you aren't allowed to leave

--an extremely busy day at work where everyone else in your department has called in for the day and you are expected to "handle things" alone

Basically, pick the worst possible experience you could think of being in, and that's your Hell.
