Foundcity is a social mapping tool for creating a personalized map of your life on-the-fly. Using your mobile phone, you "tag" or capture photos throughout the day, label them with any words you want, and send them to your map. At home, you access and customize your map, which you can share with friends, keep private, or publish openly. As a visitor to the Foundcity site, you view a map of all tags and connect with the people and places that share your interests. By plugging in to the network of Foundcity users, you learn what others value in the city as you surf their hotspots. By publishing your own tags, you share what you know about your city.

Very cool convergence tech indeed. A little immature at this point but the potential is impressive!

Does anyone else get dissapointed that all this new convergence technology is mostly geared towards a few coastal cities? We in fly-over country have computers too. I even have a 28.8 connection now.

Yeah. Just NY and San Francisco right now. Let's hope they expand, 'cause it looks like fun.

Too bad no other cities yet. I'll Bookmark it and check it again in a few months.

I was about to say "Who has time for this?" but I'd be a curious spectator, for sure. Would that have made me a hypocrite?

So wait, I take pictures of all the places in my life, and send it to this map, and then anyone can see it and know exactly where I live my life? Isn't there some serious stalker potential with this?

They've added SF? Cool. Last I saw it they just had NYC.

Wonder what the possibilities could be with GPS data?

"Read my blog! Check out my memory map! Follow my day! Look at me! Look at me!"

twsf, that doesn't seem to be the intent (or use) of this site. It's more of a wiki travel guide for little-known interesting corners of the city.

robbyrobs nailed it for me.

This actually makes a helluva lot more sense in LA than NY.

robbyrob's right but I REALLY want a constantly updated photo/map/wiki of LA coolstuff, so...I shall plug up my ears.

Hell yeah. I just got my new rockin' comp running w/windows 9.5 (those wacky microsoft folks!) and a 16.6 connection, I know we're not as fast as you fancy folks with the 28.8 but we're working on it here in kansas city.
