Le Building (quicktime) is a minute-and-a-half film that was used as an opening for the 2005 Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Made by students. Kids today. What can't they do? Making-of movie here. via cartoonbrew

[this is good] Having worked in Maya to create a few less-than-stellar shorts for a class I took last semester, the "making-of" was especially awesome to see. It's a tight, cute storyline; the animation is extremely well done, and the timing with the music just puts it over the top. This is going in my "Inspiration" folder.

Unless you are a talent scout for a cartoon production company, viewing cartoons isn't safe for work. The naked cartoon chick in the shower, well, that's not safe for ... who isn't that safe for?

That bloody pulp is actually a pizza flying out of the delivery boy's bike box. I did a double-take myself...

I had to watch that a few times myself. In the making-of movie it becomes a little clearer that the guy is delivering pizzas.

Ah, the cat is saved! I'll have to watch it again. It reminds me of another French cartoon, I forget the name, The Triplets of Belleville or something, about a kidnapped cyclist taken to America.

Funny, I felt bad about the cat the first time too. I guess maybe that's the initial reaction, since we don't instinctively recognize the motorcyclist as a pizza delivery guy.
