I thought this might be about pilobolus, a fungus that lives in cow shit and has a very powerful mechanism for shooting its shit appearing spores a long distance. The spores fly away at 35 feet per second (10.8 m per second), at a height of six feet (2 m), and land as far away as 8 feet (2.5 m). Pilobolus, without knowing it, can shoot over a cow.
