What was your score? Mine was 28 (not correct answers, but score. Correct answers were 11, I think). It seemed very easy to me, especially in the way in which it favors the kind of movies geeky males like. Obviously not "pathetically easy" else my score would have been higher. posted by Ethereal Bligh at 6:52 AM on July 4, 2005
Even with help I only got 48, although without help it would have been even less impressive.
What in gods' name is 17? Cruelly generic, I thought. posted by NinjaPirate at 7:06 AM on July 4, 2005
I just checked out the invisibles: I'll stop whining about this being hard now. posted by NinjaPirate at 7:10 AM on July 4, 2005
Of the ones I got wrong, I felt that I should have recognized 3, 10, and 14. Yeah, 17 seems very generic to me and I have no clue. 8 seems very generic to me, too. posted by Ethereal Bligh at 7:10 AM on July 4, 2005
You have to log into see the answers?!? Screw that. posted by orthogonality at 7:20 AM on July 4, 2005
8 seems very generic to me, too.
8's easy. The stick figures themselves don't help much, but the white background should give you a solid clue. posted by Goblindegook at 7:29 AM on July 4, 2005
Some MeFite created a BugMeNot login for the site... go MeFites! I only managed a score of 8 correct, 20 points. Although there were a couple that I really should have gotten :) posted by antifuse at 7:44 AM on July 4, 2005
Spoiler for 17

Pretty easy, I agree. But I'm stumped on 10, 13, and 20. posted by Robot Johnny at 8:01 AM on July 4, 2005
I wouldn't say this is pathetically easy. Some are easy, some are not. I'm a reasonably well-rounded film watcher, and a geek, and still five of these baffle me. I scored 45 on my first pass, but those last five are a mystery.
Of the ones that have people puzzled here, I know that 10 is Superman and 20 is Roman Holiday.
The ones that stumped me were 8, 9, 13, 17, and 19, though I feel like I should know every one of those. Especially 8 (for which I've tried several incorrect guesses).
I think I just figured out 19. Yup. Had never seen the film, so it made it more difficult. So my score is 46 now, with four missing answers. (I can't answer 17 because I saw the answer above.) posted by jdroth at 8:20 AM on July 4, 2005
Oof. Now that I've checked the answers, I should have got 13. It's a movie I love, and one that I watch at least once a year. I was never going to get 9, even though I've seen it. I was on the wrong track for 8... posted by jdroth at 8:25 AM on July 4, 2005

can't answer 17 because I saw the answer above
So you decided to put your own answers on the page so people couldn't answer 10 and 20? Thanks! posted by dobbs at 8:46 AM on July 4, 2005
Sorry if I messed 17 up for people, now I've thought about it I realise I should have just linked off the page to the imdb. Perhaps if other people are offering help they should do the same. posted by biffa at 8:55 AM on July 4, 2005
Isn't it a bit silly to do spoiler alerts here? I mean, the link to the test is there; if you want to take it, take it before reading the thread. *shrugs*
Anyway, the bugmenot login/password is mefi1/mefi1. We're up to 18 out of 20, if anyone can fill in 5 and 14. posted by mediareport at 9:20 AM on July 4, 2005

You really can't get 5, mediareport??
The horror! C'mon, Robot Johnny, gimme a break; I thought it was two people. Sorry to disappoint. Fun little quiz, though. posted by mediareport at 11:33 AM on July 4, 2005
Yeah, I thought 5 had a door and two guys with guns - Pulp Fiction when the hitmen barge into the frat house - right?
Wrong. posted by NinjaPirate at 12:26 PM on July 4, 2005
I thought 6 was 'Where Eagles Dare' (people fighting on top of a cable car).
"Yeah, I thought 5 had a door and two guys with guns"
Me, too, even after I saw the answer. I thought it maybe was from the part later in the movie. Knowing that's a mirror helps a lot. posted by Ethereal Bligh at 2:06 PM on July 4, 2005
cyphill: It's probably because you are spelling "Titanic" with an extra 't'. posted by hashashin at 11:21 PM on July 5, 2005
