In case it was bugging anyone else as to why that sounded so annoyingly familiar. posted by jennaratrix at 11:43 AM on July 5, 2005
Well, maybe it was annoying, but it was way better than the two dalek episodes of the new Dr Who series! Way better! posted by Chuckles at 11:45 AM on July 5, 2005
Chuckles, that statement was just plain wrong. DO NOT BLASPHEME! DO NOT BLASPHEME!
Which two (out of the three) Dalek episodes were you referring to? posted by kaemaril at 12:08 PM on July 5, 2005
Okay, maybe not better... At least it was shorter! Those DrWho episodes used 2 hours of time I could have spent watching The Sunmakers again.
The dalek shoots at the cieling and is hit by a beam of sun light.
Rose: "I never thought I'd feel the sun light again"
Dalek: "How does it feel"
The dalek opens up, exposing its biology to the light and raises a tentacle at Rose.
...
Dalek: "I can feel so many ideas... So much darkness... Rose, give me orders. Order me to die"
jennaratrix, it was a limp parody of The Llama Song (Flash!), not Badger Badger (Flash, badgers, annoying). But I agree, it wasn't very good. Shame - there're so many wonderful, stupid, cheap BBC aliens to dredge up from the Doctor Who archives, and they stuck to the new series. Bah! posted by terpsichoria at 12:22 PM on July 5, 2005
Okay unreason, I'll accept that... How about The Green Death then? Hell, even Horns of the Nimon is better than that first Dalek episode!
Maybe I have it all wrong... It didn't seem like that scene was supposed to be comedy relief, but sometimes I'm not that quick. posted by Chuckles at 12:24 PM on July 5, 2005
