It would be nice to see this done in a way that was somehow practical. Besides just the physical setup, it seems like useful location based data is all expensive and proprietary. There would be TONS of cooler map related stuff out now if anyone could really afford access to use it. The technology isn't that hard.

Hmm. This is very cool.

However, rubin, what's the problem here? This seems aimed toward more serious cartography types and those attached to major research institutions or companies that would have use for and could afford such a set-up.
