PingMag is the name of a new art and design-focused online magazine from Japan. They have many interesting articles on art and design in Japan including an interview with ELM Design (on their work for Yamaha), Monolake talking about their network music projects, Eto Koichiro talking about some of his art/programming projects, a profile of Japanese production house Little More, and a lot more in both English and 日本語。

I like the interviews and the HTML, but I actually thought the design of the site was not that great. I find it crowded and small and that it does not give enough pride of place to photos of the goods. Good link, though. Thanks.

I was one of the founders of ping.magazine in the mid-90s (1996, IIRC), when I worked at a .com startup here in Charlottesville, VA. It only lasted a year or two. It was print and web-based. My primary contribution was thinking up the name and writing a single cover article.

Perhaps this PingMag will last longer.
