Mayonnaise is difficult to spell...

"I found an abandoned grocery list in a St. Louis Schnuck's parking lot in 1996 or 1997. So I decided to keep them every time I came across one. And the internet is a great place to do stupid things." See the Best of for the author's picks, including my personal favorite.

Use our Podcasts to have a new list read to you every weekday. Forgot your list? Don't know what you want for dinner? Use one of our lists!

Stupid indeed. God bless the Internet.

I keep thinking the last one on there says "Pads (for ex)". My ex never brings me sanitary napkins, dammit.

Curious, kind of another strange insight into the lives of other people.

And then there's the Milk Bottle of the Day site. Delivered fresh to your desktop, why? I don't really know. And who thinks milk bottles are sexy? Because, apparently, they do.

Emperor Yamamoto's Eggs - your favorite list brings to mind the "what four items would you buy to freak out the cashier" game that was played over at MetaChat in June.

taz's list was a favorite:
shotgun shells
20 feet of rope
champagne
engagement ring

  1. [this is good]
  2. I love your profile (by coincidence, I noted this two days ago).
  3. The author of the site is this Mefite.

Well thank you... there's a very dumb in-jokey story behind it that I will spare you the details of unless you are just dying to know.

And interesting that a mefite made this, I did notice that he linked to that great Ask thread on the grocerylist blog.
