Wow, I wonder what sort of process he used on those shots from Japan. They were really beautiful.

I really liked these (I think this is my favorite so far). Thanks Gyan.

Effing A. Nice post, Gyan. I clicked about a half-dozen before I noticed that they were shot with a Hasselblad 500C/M with a Zeiss lens which suddenly explained all of the questions floating around in my mind and then I clicked about a thousand more times. Wow. Yashica, D2, Hasselblad & Japan. Doesn't get much better.

Oh, and for anyone with a Lomo or Yashica or similar that wants the saturation, Fuji Velvia is your friend.

Nice. The photos look great with the super saturation and high contrasty look. I've tried to massage photos in photoshop like this before and I can never get it to work quite right, but these are all uniformly terrific.

The pictures almost have a sepia tinge about them. It's gives them a sinister-ish contrast. Certainly they chose the right domain name. Thanks Gyan, nice post.

Thanks for posting this link Gyan; overshadowed has been one of my faves for a long time. This is one of the shots that convinced me to buy the Nikkor 35mm f/2. Plus, he mixes his digital shots so they have the same look as his Velvia.

They're almost cinematic. Lovely shots, especially the in-car subway shots and the architecture-of-transportation shots.

LeeJay, I came here to post the exact same picture, as (one of) my favorite(s). There are lots of great shots to choose from though, certainly.

I've been still looking at them, and they are really good shots. This is a very good post. I know I said it before, but thanks.

I've been visiting overshadowed daily for quite a while now. It is consistently one of the highest quality photoblogs around.
The guy could make any city look beautiful.
