I Find Your Lack of Faith Disturbing is the new blog by screenwriter Josh Friedman. Not much there yet but what is is fun, especially parts one and two of his adventures with arbitration on War of the Worlds. (Of note: Friedman is the writer who adapted James Ellroy's The Black Dahlia for David Fincher Brian De Palma.) {via The Screenwriting Life}

The script for War of the Worlds was horrible. I know it is hard to make a disaster movie personal but couldn't they have thought of anything better than "becoming a responsible father" as a story?

This blog seems to be more about the size of this guy's name on billboards than the nuts and bolts of the War of the Worlds script.

Mr. Friedman tosses the F-Bomb about his site like a person
who discovered the word a day earlier.

His additional exposition ("So I'm reading the internet
the other day as we webmasters are wont to do..."
)
could arouse the innermost Ned Ludd of any hardened technophile.

Final verdict: **1/2

The nuts and bolts of the War of the Worlds script? I'd have limited interest in that. However, I do like that a pro screenwriter has a blog where he's talking straight about the industry and isn't afraid to name names.

I didn't see WotW but I am looking forward to The Black Dahlia (though it would have been a far better film it were Fincher/Wahlberg than the current De Palma / Hartnett (ugh. I hate Josh Hartnett)).

Anyway, the blog is young. I liked what was there and will keep checking it out.
