Henry Jacobs is, a unique and mostly forgotten (but recently reissued) sound artist and humorist, an inventor of surround sound and, apparently, really really good at left handed ping-pong.

Though there should be a tremendous amount of enthusiastic prose to write about a man who both organises sound engineering and plays ping-pong, I can only think- "Oh, so that's who helped invent that." In fact, I didn't even think that. I think.

What a useless waste of a post. I don't know why I'm still writing this. Mongoose.

On the contrary, I thought this was an interesting post—I’d never heard of Jacobs before &, even though his work isn’t quite my cup of tea, I was glad to make this brief acquaintance with it.

I said that MINE was a useless waste of a post, not the link.

I highly recommend Electronic Kabuki Mambo, recently released on Locust in 2002.

No, you only 'meant' "mine". You didn't say it. That's not how it read at all. But...it's clarified now.

Great post. I am amazed at the number of forgotten artists and thrilled when new dvds/cds come out.
