I thought you left "I am amicably leaving the Drudge Report after a long and close working relationship with Matt Drudge... I am also excited to be a partner in an inspired new endeavor, the Huffington Post." This was written May 26th but Drudge is linking to this "raucous, opinionated, red meat eating libertarian-leaning conservative" more than ever.

What's so hard to understand about this FPP? Breitbart says he's leaving Drudge to join Huffington with the pithy sign-off "May the best ideas win." And Drudge links to him like he never left. Because on the Right all the ideas are exactly the same. j.p. Hung did a little investigative research and discovered yet another case of Republican hypocrisy. He posted something you can't find on Google. Good for him. From the first link: As a Dennis Miller/South Park kind of Republican, I am offended by both 'Bush is Hitler' rhetoric and fetus-in-a-jar political speech. Andrew Sullivan's South Park Republican wet dream. They so desperately want to be cool, but they don't even get it when Cartman is taking the piss out of them.

Got it. Maybe this would be better posted to a personal blog where people who care could, I don't know, subscribe to an RSS feed of it. Or something.

It means that if you talk to most American conservatives these days, they cannot understand any criticism of the current Republican leadership in any way except as part of the imaginary "liberal agenda." If you point out the discrepancy between Republican policy and conservative principles, they tend to freak out in a very dramatic and (to me) surprising way. It means half the people in my crowd have willfully shut down communication with the rest of us. Like Kesey said in another context, "You're either on the bus or you're off the bus."

If you listen to Sean Hannity, Rush Limbo, Fox News, Scott McClellan, or George Bush they all say EXACTLY the same thing. And Matt Drudge links to it. I've never seen people who stay on message so well. Why are you people so bitchy? Perhaps we should form a Best of the Web Council and create a "best of the web" creed (to be zealously followed) wherein we delineate what is and is not "best". Dissenters can separate and form their own "best of the web" sects!
