propinquity

propinquity Has anyone else noticed the propinquity between mefi and digg? It's getting to the point where you have to search both before you post! Or did someone on digg already say that?
This post was deleted for the following reason: post this to metatalk instead
Doesn't this belong on MetaTalk, anyways?

The propinquity of Digg to Metafilter is less discerable that the congruity of Digg to Slashdot.

No I haven't. But I've noticed a propinquity between a certain, less popular "linkfilter" site that I read and FPPs on the blue. But I don't wanna make any accusations other than that so I'll leave it hang.
And I've also noticed a propinquity between me commenting in threads and those same threads being closed soon after... so what Citizen Premier said, too!

For the less educated, "propinquity" is a sad result of gigantism of the skull.

To answer both of this post's questions:
1. No.
2. I don't know, I've never heard of digg before.

I've posted a link originally found on digg to metafilter before. It was quite a success.

Well, I've been reading MeFi for four years, finally got an account here this year....and saw digg for the first time three days ago.
So I guess the answer to your first question, judging by the responses so far, is "No."

NinjaPirate, you're wrong. Propinquity is the agonizing engorgemental throbbing of the posterior.

They're all self-referential. I see the same things on /., Fark, Digg, Boing Boing, and MeFi (and often Techdirt, GeekPress, and del.icio.us/popular) all within a few days of each other. Sometimes the MSM even picks them up after a few weeks.
I'm probably wasting a lot of time visiting all of those. OTOH, it does give me the happy illusion that the "whole net community" is in on the same buzz.

Given the high percentage of tech news, I'd says it's more like slashdot.

I like Digg. That said, if Metafilter becomes just like Digg (exhibit A) that would be a shame.

Digg looks like a slashdot rehash. Nothing to get hung about.
This really belongs on meta, not the blue.

What a difference one letter can make. At first I read it as "prop iniquity" -- which would be something else altogether
