Mythbot report

Mythbot.com A little cartoon robot thinks it knows the truth about everything and decides to share it. There is humor in some portions, but mostly it's just interesting to read through. The character goes through its life story, relates adventures that include characters like Jesus and Nyquil, and makes observations about current and past events/issues (There's a current drive to canonize Ray Nagin).

Then of course there is this observation at

which probably explains why the new link button doesn't work for me - nor does the bold or italic.

What shit is this. You couldn't drag a positive perspective out of some people with a jackhammer, forceps and a blowtorch.

Fritz>> Well, that's a negative outlook you have there.

Um, you don't seem like the kind of person who walks around looking for rays of sunshine. Your website is all black and dark, with only negative things on it, every post you have on Metafilter is a complaint about something you hate, and even this post that demands a sunnier outlook from other people is clouded by your own negativity and bitterness.

What the heck?

From donfactor's link: That's like getting a degree in Physics and then clapping and laughing when you see a link to a dancing politician.

Typical day at Fermilab.

nervous fritz: What shit is this. You couldn't drag a positive perspective out of some people with a jackhammer, forceps and a blowtorch.

Mythbot, allow me:

Myth: You can drop a mouse down a thousand-yard mine shaft and, on arriving at the bottom, it gets a slight shock and walks away. A rat would probably be killed, though it can fall safely from the eleventh story of a building, a man is broken, a horse splashes.
Status: Correct.
Reality: When you run out of gold, you can always find something else that's interesting to do.

Many people are quick to abandon prospecting when the ore runs out, but that doesn't mean the riches have dried up entirely. With a little inventiveness, and gentle encouragement, one can find new means of drawing additional revenue.
