"I dated Yumi for awhile, and I have to confess I became very attached to her. Yumi could get very angry over small things. She would yell at me and ignore me the exact same way as all my other girlfriends have. Finally I decided to stop the relationship. It was too draining for me. It was hard sometimes to remember that Yumi wasn't real."

Aww, come on, Lighten up.
It's fun once in a while to make a joke or two. In this case it was a reference to a what I think was a South Park episode when Pokemon evaded the small city, Japanese authorities calmed the worry-some parent by convincing them 'We, have very small penises - You American, very BIG penises, much larger than ours'. It's fun.

actually, in south park, the town was invaded by chinpokomon. which is really only relevant because 'chinpoko' is a japanese child's word for penis.

I could swear that there were such things here in the States in the eighties or so... as may be, we're still the culture that gave Real Dolls to the planet.

Maybe it would be amusing to set up a service like "love by mail" which deliberately taught the men completely impractical and overtly false dating techniques. Or alternatively some l33t hacker could mess with the service in such a way that Japanese men started trying to get girlfriends by rubbing animal fat into their chests or something?
