Oh man. This is not the first Lego case mod, but this is tremendously cool.

I was ready to hate this, but it's incredible.

Some of those Lego pieces take me back, the green tinted aircraft canopies on hinges...wow.

I remember this from a while back (I think from /.), and still see the same main problem: cooling. For instance, the windows behind the power supply fan are nift, but what's the point? Would you ever not want that airflow open? Yes, yes, anything Lego == cool, but this just isn't terribly well thought-out.

That was pretty neat. Not something I'd do as I'd expect Lego's melt pretty readily and some of those CPU's pump out the heat. But its cool looking and inventive, I like it!

One of the more hideous lego cases, I'm afraid.

Good effort though, and I recommend that KB--looks cheap, but it's got great RF range.

Haha that's great...
Reminds me of a bored night back in high school where we fashioned a smoking tool out of Legos. By the end of the night it had wheels, little guys, wings...Waay too much stuff to pass around easily.

oh and it tasted like butt. but it was quite fun!

Those C3s run really very cool. Most of them dissipate less than 10 watts so melting wouldn't be a problem.

I'd be worried about static though. Plastic like that isn't the best thing to mount a motherboard to.

OMG nerdchubby! *swoon*

See, that's a lego casemod. None of that wonky "I'm gonna build a huge dumb square box" or "I'm gonna just glue a skin of lego to an ATX case" crap.

And I think it looks nifty, even without a good color coordination scheme and with all the random mixed era parts.

You casemod with the lego you have.

Somewhere towards the end of junior high and the beginning parts of High School I made a lego walkman case. Working tape door and transport, lego buttons, lego case made from a heat formed baseplate.

People thought I was weird. I was just 15 years ahead of my time.

Not something I'd do as I'd expect Lego's melt pretty readily

As a lifelong LEGO user, I've got to correct you here: while some smaller parts can snap and/or break, melting a lego is in fact very hard to do. Many times as a child LEGOs were boiled and/or put in the dishwasher after being discovered under a couch after 6 months, or dragged by Kitty into the litter box, etc. In fact, the only time I have ever seen a lego melt is when it was thrown into a fire.

The bricks are nigh-invulnerable. LEGOS should be sent to our troops in Iraq to up-armor their humvees. (Do not taunt LEGO)

Oh I don't know. Setting those bricks next to the campfire was pretty easy.

I think this is better than Dorian's Lego cases because this puts all those cool fiddly lego bits to good use. The doors and hatches covering connectors are a nice touch, as are the windows and using lego bits as grilles for ventilation. Dorian's lego cases are just boxes built out of Lego.

I spent the last week of the summer holiday with my boy at LEGOLAND in Windsor, absolutely the coolest place. We both loved it (he's five, I'm nigh on thirty) and barring all the flights to Heathrow overhead it was an excellent day with loads of great activities for all ages. If you are a big LEGO freak I'd strongly recommend visiting it or one of the other LEGOLAND theme parks worldwide.

Plus, I got to buy loads of new LEGO dinosaurs and stuff. Yay!

Kind of reminds me of this old classic...
