Birobidzhan: The Soviet project to settle Ukranian, Belorussian, as well as US and Latin American Jews on Russia's easternmost frontier, where they would be granted an automonous territory with the right to speak in and publish in their own language, was initiated in 1934. A digital copy of the promotion materials such as posters, books, and films, along with historical information, is provided on two websites: Stalin's Forgotten Zion and 17 Moments in Soviet History

This post was deleted for the following reason: double post

I've got your first two links right here. Different URL, though.

Ok, since it's a double post, someone should delete it. I am not an editor, I don't have the power to delete unfortunately. There is a function to flag a post as duplicate, but I forgot how to do it. If someone can remind me, I'll appreciate it

I think you flag a post as duplicate by inviting throngs of people with nothing better to do to leave comments berating you and your extended family for double-posting.

Seriously, though, I don't know.

Interesting links. (The original by tss, too).

You flag a post as double by clicking on the exclamation point at the end of it. It's one of the options you are then presented with.

Might be a double post, but it's still damn interesting.

Isn't the Amur River basin one of the mosquito hotspots of the world?
