God does not care about MetaFilter people. posted by sdrawkcab at 7:12 PM on September 18, 2005
I cycled through the images in about 20 seconds.... is there more that im missing some how?
A quick whois shows that the site was purchased recently enough to not even have a whois.... i smell contentless self link. posted by sourbrew at 7:15 PM on September 18, 2005
This wouldn't be funny even if there were more than the seven photos. posted by Balisong at 7:17 PM on September 18, 2005
sourbrew, I'm not sure where you do your WHOIS searches. Try networksolutions.com, the link is on the bottom left. This site is registered to Stacy Bias of LadyLiscious LLC. posted by odinsdream at 7:24 PM on September 18, 2005
This kind of website is so 2002. posted by chasing at 7:28 PM on September 18, 2005
odinsdream: even networksolutions' whois doesn't give that info to me. I started with CLI (linux) whois and got nothing like that.
However, ownership of the domain isn't required for a self-promoting FPP.

I'm not doing anything special to get that info. Just clicked the WHOIS link on networksolution's site, typed in heygod.org, and the information was displayed. I'm not trying to support or discredit the self-link accusation, I'm just sharing the WHOIS results. posted by odinsdream at 7:35 PM on September 18, 2005
Hmph, just finished watching The God Who Wasn't There and then this. ...but I second basicchannel -- can I get the better of the web? posted by creeptick at 7:36 PM on September 18, 2005

When I saw this site, I figured Margaret finally grew up and got tired of asking, "Are you there, God?" and was now just bitter and pissed off. posted by fandango_matt at 8:56 PM on September 18, 2005
A day too early to post here, I'm afraid, though your intentions were good.
The Hey God site is brand new; I'm amazed it showed up here so fast. Cut them some slack and check back in a week. Or get out your camera and let the Benevolent Mystery know what's on your heathen little minds. posted by ottereroticist at 10:23 PM on September 18, 2005
This sucks on like five different levels. I'm not flaming you FlamingBore (10/11 is pretty good), but I just had to say that the site is shit.
This is a real dilemma for me. I hate bunnies AND I hate this link. What do I do?

Hey God? It's me..... DUFFMAN! posted by adzm at 2:52 AM on September 19, 2005
Is it just me, or are over 60% of the people who dare show their face on heygod (both of them, that is) overweight middleaged white women?
Despite what ottereroticist might think, that's about as interesting as overweigth middleaged white men. posted by spazzm at 6:00 AM on September 19, 2005
From FlamingBore's self-link refutation link comes this from the true creator of heygod.org: "I don't even know what metafilter is, but they seem grumpy." But it's really more snark than grump, isn't it? I mean, you didn't all get out of bed on the wrong side, you got up on the right side and are enjoying a good sitebashing, yeah?
but i must say, this kind of site is a bit played out posted by louigi at 9:17 AM on September 19, 2005
Hey spazzm, your assumption that overweight people are de facto uninteresting? Is boring.
