This prompted me to go snag the LEGO Digital Designer and register at club.lego.com. Its quite amazing how many services they are offering, and how much fun it is to build your own lego creations on the computer, upload it to your LEGO Factory homepage, share your model with the community and if you wanted, order a kit with the exact bricks needed. You can also download other peoples model/kits to play with in the designer software to learn from or build off of.

Shame we didn't have this when I was young...thankfully I have nephews I can use as an excuse to build a bunch of lego creations !!

Hopefully not a derail, but Mac OS X-using lego enthusiasts might want to check out Bricksmith, a front-end to ldraw. The UI is kinda wonky, but it's still very cool.

A friend of mine got me a Hole-on Ex for my birthday, and I'll agree with the comments that it takes way more than 2 hours to assemble (it's four if you're lucky). And the first roll I put through it was completely over-exposed; it needs heavy-duty black tape to prevent light leaks.

Having said that, it looks amazing. Who can resist a pinhole camera which not only takes 35mm film, but looks like a point-and-shoot 35mm camera?

Who can resist a pinhole camera which not only takes 35mm film, but looks like a point-and-shoot 35mm camera?

Not me. That's why I made a pinhole attachment for my nikon. I cut a hole out of a body-cap or whatever you call the plastic thing that fits in place of the lens. I taped a foil cone there that protruded into the camera about half an inch (hole needs to be close to the film.) I poked a pin through the foil and voila. Takes pretty nice pictures.

remember with a pinhole camera the accuracy of the round pinhole and thinness of the material are critical.

gren Here is some more goodness for you. The Lego company is only now offering what the fan community has been offering all along. That said, Lego takes a very unsual approach to IP protection.

Absolutely beautiful; serene and calming to look at, even. To echo others, thank you very much for finding and posting.
