About the only things missing are an Amiga and an Apple I (with the wood case).

Apart from the historical interest of items like these, in years to come we're going to need old hardware to retrieve data from old media. CDs, DVDs, 3.5 inch floppies, 5.25 floppies, and on back.

Love this. My first computer is here. It had a great voice synthesizer program .. took Microsoft years to <strike>buy something equivalent </strike> produce something as good.

A500s and A1000s are rare? I can have one (or more) of each on my doorstep in less than a week with a phone call or email. There's still quite a lot of them out and about.

Agreed, 1 A1000 and A2000 within easy reach me. God if they had been successful. Never loved a machine more than those.

It's hard to believe that we, as humans, can form such strong bonds with, of all things.... digital computers.

I'm one of them... I long for my Commodore 64, it's 1541 5 1/4" Floppy Disk Drive, and a 300 Buad coupler MODEM.

My computer infatuation started in 1983 when I was four.... and now... here I sit in a darkened datacenter, manning the mid-shift on a Friday night, a 21st century mainframe console magician... dumping data to tape, syncing databases, and coding in arcanum.

That said, I do so hope that someone purchases and preserves this entire collection of computers.

"...till they prey the keyboard from my cold, dead hands."

i wonder how much this stuff will be worth in say, 80 years

Well, 100 year old treadle sewing machines, such as this Singer, are usually worth next to nothing despite their beautiful shape, intricate metal works and elaborate painted designs. Antique shops often remove and discard the machine, then sell the wooden cabinet.
