Can you stand the anticipation? Could this major holiday turn out to be a big letdown? I keep thinking that BushCo is the wrong target, that it's conservative voters who are ultimately responsible for Dubya's record and that not enough energy is being spent on dialog with the people who gave him their votes.

Actually, I'm unclear on how Cheney or Bush would be indicted. Or rather, prosecuted. Seems like they have all the cards. Certainly they can be shamed and disgraced, but you'd need someone within the party to drop the axe. Hmmm... Don't know about McCain. Doubtful. Ponies indeed. One can dream.

Apropos ponies. John has developed an infallible way to improve any public policy wishes. You just wish for the thing, plus, wish that everyone would have their own pony! So, in Chafetz' case, he should not only wish that Bush would say a lot of good things about democracy-building and fighting terrorism in a speech written for him by a smart person, he should also wish that Bush should actually mean the things he says and enact policies which reflect this, and he should wish that everyone gets a pony.
