The description of the PaNIC extension brings back ancient memories: in the late '80s there was a memory-resident DOS utility (can't remember the name, let's call it "LOOKBUSY") that would instantly display a spreadsheet when you hit a hotkey combination.

Quite possibly the single most useful link ever posted to MetaFilter.

YES! I remember using that! I think it was indeed called "LOOKBUSY".

I've seen something similar at the top right of pages on the web site Workopolis (a Canadian jobs site).

Just goes to show how porn still rules as one of the most powerful technology drivers.

These often let you find galleries similar to one you have open without using the keyboard. In other words, using only one hand?

Redirect Remover

It was amusing -- in the beginning "Pornzilla" was going to be a porn-optimized build of Mozilla. Once Firefox added the extensions architecture, they wisely redirected course.

And there were far more than just one "boss key" TSR.

The "bookmarklets" would be quite useless for the stated purpose, I assume, due to two reasons:

- they use javascript (now, who in any sane state of mind would leave Java/Javascript on when going to the wild wild bush?)
- my bookmark toolbar is full already.

Unless, that is, I missed something.

Linky is a mozilla extension that does nifty things... like open all image links in a single tab.

I love how PaNIC's default action is to close down all your open tabs and open a new one containing a Google Search on "workplace productivity". If they could only get it to set off the firealarm, encrypt your hard disk, teleport you half a mile away and give everybody else selective amnesia the problem would be solved.

Grammar SWAT, can we get a squad here? I need to know if it should be 'were' matched to 'far more than' as written or 'was' matched to 'just one "boss key" TSR'.

The browser I used to use (Maxthon) had a feature I wish I could duplicate with Firefox - a hotkey combination (Ctrl-~) that fell under my left pinkie and ring fingers on my Northgate keyboard that instantly and completely hid the browser - including inside Task Manager.

Sweet.

I'm sorry, perhaps you actually meant to do this, but did you mean to tag this with porn and not poon?

I guess it's all the same.

Can they release Firefox with these extensions as a package and call it a "social browser" named Fap?

Look, stealther isn't even listed and it's the best. Leaves your regular cookies ect. untouched. No suspiciously blank 'recent' list at the top of your browser.
