When I read the phrase "old school toys", I began wondering what school toys those might be. My mind went back to kindergarten in the 70s...Base 10 blocks? The play kitchen? Those 'blocks' made out of cardboard stamped to look like bricks?
Turns out it was about old-school toys, really. The power of a hyphen! posted by Miko at 7:37 AM on October 31, 2005
What is the difference between old-school and retro?
I'm seriously asking here. Many of the toys shown and I've heard fashions and kitsch in a similar vein described alternately as old-school or retro when they are objects manufactured in the present but reminiscent of a style found in the past. I was curious as to the difference. posted by Pollomacho at 7:48 AM on October 31, 2005
