Day of the Dead

Mañana November 2nd is the "Day of the Dead" Linked here two years ago; and adding a link for Spanish speakers. Perhaps most famously known through the Skull of Catrina by the late great José Guadalupe Posada. Some Quotes for the day. And finally why not participate if in San Francisco.

Time to break out Grim Fandango on the ol' SCUMM VM.

"In Mexico, life isn't walled off from death. It appears more a continuum in which forces emerge from the dark and return to it."

Great culture link, thanks. I've been interested in the Day of the Dead since I read Ray Bradbury's Halloween Tree at a tender age. It appears in several of his other stories, as well -- it was one of his motifs. Fascinating.

furtive, Grim Fandango sadly doesn't work on ScummVM due to its 3D-ness. It runs natively under Windows XP pretty well, though.

Miko, I read that when I was like 10 and had completely forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder!

It runs natively under Windows XP pretty well, though.

Mine consistently locks up, tho, and I've been unable to replay the game for many years, now. furtive had me hoping and downloading, for a second there.

ps, this needs a mexico tag
