Today is Will Rogers' birthday. If you don't know much about him, take a little time today. Some of his quotes are priceless.

For years I got him confused with Roy Rogers and didn't think much of him. I'm glad I finally did some digging and found out who he really was. A pretty fascinating character in my opinion. I wish he were around today.

I live just a few miles from the Will Rogers Shrine to the Sun, which is also his resting place.

An onion can make people cry, but there has never been a vegetable invented to make them laugh.
Acutally, parsnips - hilarious.

Well, all I know is what I read in the papers.
I belong to no organized party. I am a Democrat.

They certainly have passed the test of time. Thanks, Mr T.

America is becoming so educated that ignorance will be a novelty. I will belong to the select few.

Boy was he wrong...

The more things change...

The 1928 Republican Convention opened with a prayer. If the Lord can see His way clear to bless the Republican Party the way it's been carrying on, then the rest of us ought to get it without even asking.

You don't see many just plain humorists like this around anymore.

Notably absent is Roger's aphorism "I never met a man I didn't like," to which my father once referred by remarking, "Will Rogers never got to meet Richard Nixon."
