SwarmSketch - Collective sketching of the collective consciousness. Requires Flash. [MI]

From the website:
SwarmSketch is an ongoing online canvas that explores the possibilities of distributed design by the masses. Each week it randomly chooses a popular search term which becomes the sketch subject for the week. In this way, the collective is sketching what the collective thought was important each week.
Also, check out the site's gallery of previous images.

I think it got er.. mefi'd. Was working ok a few minutes ago.

Nice idea, but the opacity thing makes it too messy. And the line size seemed too small to me. Though I guess both of those things are to necessitate collaboration.

This could be an interesting way to experiment with all this wiki-business, a nice visual way to understand how collaborative creation can/does/will work.

I'd like to see a few comparison tests - the same idea with different or tweaked models.

If minuscule crude drawings of genitalia were rocket fuel, this site could take us to mars!

I'm watching the history of the Pumpkin Carving one; pretty interesting.

Um yeah, let's leave the business of sketching the collective consciousness to the real professionals (artists).

We are currently sketching "Xbox 360", come in and contribute a line.

Doesn't Microsoft already have enough "design by committee" without our help?

I wonder if MeFi deserved a mention.
