Wow, that hitchhiker cartoon was really boring. At least the first part. posted by delmoi at 5:01 PM on November 21, 2005
second parts pretty dull too. posted by delmoi at 5:04 PM on November 21, 2005
Loved pt.2 of Ep 3 of Brackenwood. Gotta say tho that the numbering, like the navigation on the site, is a mite confusing.. posted by dash_slot- at 5:29 PM on November 21, 2005
Not a lot happening in terms of plot, but golly! I'll say it - that was the best looking Flash animation I have ever seen, hands down. posted by Wolfdog at 5:31 PM on November 21, 2005
I've been following Bitey Castle for a while. My favorites are Frank, and Night Shift.

Hooray! I'm twelve too. Glad to know that I'm not alone in twelveness.
Also, that was great. Thanks for posting it. Now I must watch the frykitty mentionings. posted by panoptican at 5:55 PM on November 21, 2005
I'm impressed.
I'm just starting to get into Flash and it's great to see what people can do with it.

I prefer Walt Holcombe's “The Courtship of Sniffy LaPants” as an example of a really great looking (albeit odd) example of Flash animation, but that Hitchhiker short was pretty good, too. Thanks! posted by maryh at 7:00 PM on November 21, 2005
(nice grammar on me... kill that 2nd 'example') posted by maryh at 7:01 PM on November 21, 2005
I thought that was great! The mix of myth, the humor, and the animation were wonderful. posted by malaprohibita at 7:04 PM on November 21, 2005
The most recent piece is an awesome landmark of flash aesthetics...the motion blur and depth of field are astounding. Flash 8 is a factor, but he's been faking some of those effects before they were built in. posted by indigoskynet at 8:19 PM on November 21, 2005
i also am twelve because it is fun to say. posted by wakko at 9:26 PM on November 21, 2005
wow. I'm twenty-twelve. and I lost the twenty when watching brackenwood.
Great animation and wonderful emotions with such simple images. Clearly a talented and classically trained cartoonist. posted by lalochezia at 10:18 PM on November 21, 2005
That just made my evening. Thanks much for the link!
Regarding secrets: I just read through his page detailing the color-coded, eye blinking language of some of the characters. That, coupled with his promise of hidden messages encoded within the music will undoubtedly make for many repeat visits.
Twelve indeed! I want to live in Brackenwood now... posted by aladfar at 11:45 PM on November 21, 2005
for the flash geeks out there heres an article on how some of these techniques were done.
