I really don't understand this post. Is it alerting us to the fact that greenhouses exist, indeed can be constructed by non-professionals, and that they are used for commercial purposes? Fascinating.

I find the rotating power trowel interesting, among other things. I truly hope to build at least one of these in my lifetime.

Do It With Friends Greenhouse. It's clearly a post about exhibitionist botanists, and I'm not clicking it at work. Shouldn't it have NSFW? Sheesh!

I don't see what this has to do with bushsucks/torture/iraq/electoralfraud.

Seriously, this is a great post. PVC pipe is fun to work with, like playing with tinkertoys. And dirt cheap.

someday I will have a yard in which to build my dream greenhouse. Thanks, Bigmusic.

It alerted me to the fact that greenhouses needn't be expensive glass-and-aluminium affairs, but can be knocked together for next to nothing in next to no time and still look good. Maybe I'm clueless for not having thought of this myself earlier. I've printed out the chook pen and the greenhouse plans - thanks bigmusic!

Great stuff. My mom has been asking me to figure out how she can have a greenhouse, I think PVC pipe is the answer. Thanks!

Keep in mind that PVC is not UV resistant, a PVC green house is not a permanent structure.

I guess that's what make them attractive for me. Big empty backyard, still working out what to put where. I can make a PVC greenhouse, chook shed, garden bed covers etc, plonk them down, move them around til I decide where they work best over the year then move to something more permanent without wasting a heap of money.
