It's intriguing to me that many poor ideas nevertheless persist, and that's particularly true when the idea involves "design." I think it's got to do with people pouring their "psychic capital" into the design -- it's their creation, they made it. Now, there are arguments for this kind of design. If I assume that the creator is a lefty, it's OK for it to be on the right hand, but for righties it should be on the left, and it should be rotated 90 degrees so that the screen is in a readable orientation when you hold your arm in front of you -- think of a wristwatch. (But you'd have to have kind of big hands to keep it from being awkward.) Also, the controls should be in the open so you can work them. (But of course, you're wearing gloves. And it would be hard to secure the device while keeping the controls and screen clear. Come to think of it, it doesn't look like it's secured as it is...)

Wouldn't it fall out really easily? What a nightmare. I prefer to keep my ipod in the pocket of my coat, personally, since I'm not prone to breaking into cartwheels. I hate to be that girl who's suspcious because someone's too happy, but this post is outrageously enthusiastic for something that's not really all that interesting. Just sayin'.

I have a much more brilliant idea, not easily marketable, but still... here it goes: surgery to graft a skin implant on your cheek or neck, so it forms a pouch, where you can put your iPod! the real iSkin! uber cool! and your hands are free, and it works even when you're naked. Someone out there must already be thinking about this.

Tangentially, I'd just like to point out that the original earphones that come with the ipod have a nasty tendency to sort of freeze in serious weather. They get all stiff and I fear they will snap. These mittens are clearly not for actual cold weather.
