Q-Unit: Greatest Hits is an outstanding collection of mashups of 50 Cent and Queen. The mocked-up album covers alone are worth it, but I think I've listened to "Crazy Little P.I.M.P. Called Love" about three times already this morning. (Mirror here if main site craps out)

ah, i am enjoying this immensely, thank you.
Although there's some good sites linked via the mashup tag, can anyone point me towards any more quality stuff please? Think i'll do me some exploring this afternoon...

terrapin: If I had R'd TFL I would have found the mirror in the first place. Thanks.

Nice, thanks. I always thought 50 Cent and Freddie Mercury were separated at birth. It seems only natural to put them together.

Sorry, but this just reinforces how shitty 50 cent is, and how shitty a lot of rap is and modern music these days. These mash-ups are like that old adage about adding a cup of sewage to a barrel of wine...

I agree with hincandenza, but instead of saying wine I would have said juice.

re the kelptones (after a brief listen):
fun, if not mind-blowing. good choice of queen songs + good MCs (KRS One is a different fucking species than 50 cent) + some imaginative editing.

re the 50 cent:
meh. KRS says it best in the second track of hip hopera: "the difference is kids today got the video so rappers don't need the skills to bill so they don't really know"

it just makes me want to put on a queen album. it's also making me realize just how obscenely overrated and shallow $0.50 is. i listen to these and i'm just thinking, "dude, shut UP: i'm trying to listen to queen."

alas i'm still waiting for something to top American Edit's Novocaine Rhapsody.

good choice of queen songs + good MCs

though more the former than the latter, really.

I'd like to pile on with the Fitty Haters.

On the one hand, he sounds like he's just muttering into the microphone. On the other hand, every picture of him I've ever seen looks like he pasted his head onto an image of a really ripped dude. The head and the body just never match.

So, I for one plan to buy his biography from Sams Publishing, Get Rich or Learn Photoshop in 24 days.
