I'm not entirely sure this is the best of the web, but I was enjoying it a lot . . . until I found thesetwo, which skeeve me a little. Apparently the animal-hoarding thing happens there too. posted by booksandlibretti at 7:35 PM on November 29, 2005
Some of these look a little strange (i.e. non-voluntary) to me. In 20+ years of cat ownership, I've never seen cats pile on top of each other like that. posted by longdaysjourney at 9:03 PM on November 29, 2005
ph00dz, I did see it. My comment, um, linked to it. posted by booksandlibretti at 9:04 PM on November 29, 2005
The combination of cats and Engrish is pretty sweet, but I could do without whatever dick is changing all the captions. The Engrish was entertaining, but the replacement captions are contrived and lame. posted by pocams at 9:05 PM on November 29, 2005
One, two, three cats are cute. More than that and we start to get into the Scary Zone. Look at these pics long enogh and you can almost smell the overwhelming pong of cat piss.... posted by squalor at 10:16 PM on November 29, 2005
What is it with people taking pictures of cats in boxes?
Cats that are siblings who have lived together as adults often sleep in a large heap. The heap is known as a 'clump'. As kittens this behaviour is for temperature regulation. When the kittens at the bottom of the clump get too warm, they leave the clump and relocate themselves on the top where they can cool off. It's rare to see it amongst cats who have not been raised together to adulthood.
