Iwan.com has lots of nice photos of interesting places and people and an inoffensive site layout.

It's weird how the word "inoffensive" has come to replace the word "delightful." Like "inoffensive" is the standard which you strive to achieve in a world of people who care too much about things that don't matter.

I took "inoffensive" to mean non-flash-based and navigable, which it was!

Metafilter: Most Inoffensive Of The Web(TM).

Sorry. This is actually an interesting site, and I'd agree that the interface doesn't get in the way (which is really the highest compliment you can pay to a user interface, right?).

For some reason, I think I like the dry lake panorama the most... so eerily calm and desolate.

Inoffensive interfaces are a delight and a surprise when it comes to photo sites. A truly inoffensive interface is the work of somebody who wants to present you with actual content, and not some "full multimedia experience-o-rama!"

Great site, easy to navigate, but I wish there was more information on the locations some of these photos. In particular, where is that library? I want one.

Thanks for the great link. I have to say that my favorites are the closeups of the people. I have a difficult time getting that close with a camera to people I know.

I agree that it's inoffensive in the non-flash, non-watermark way. I'm enjoying looking at these, but the geek in me is curious about the technical aspects: does anybody know if this photographer shoots film or digital?

inoffensive? I beg to differ.

Would it be so hard to include a "previous" and "next" link for each photo, so that it wouldn't be so hard to browse through the series? And let's not get into that horrible popover -- you have to hold your mouse precisely within a 15-pixel row as you navigate all the way across the screen, or it disappears and you have to start over.

Anyway, nice photography, although I agree with nomds that some context for the photos would make them better.

Er...There is a "previous" and "next" link for each photo in the Photography section. Unless you're just looking at the "reload" thing on the homepage.

I'd say "inoffensive" is perfectly accurate as far as the layout goes. The photos are delightful. Very nice post.

It's the rijksmusuem library in amsterdam.

Nice pictures, but I prefer the offensive pictures at sidewayspony.com

Hi mom!

Significant? Or just pretending the TV cameras are pointed at you, ab'd al'Hazred?

Nice pics of far-away lands

Some very cool stuff. I was surprised to see some of the books he's worked on. The ones I've seen before (48 laws of power, escher, the astrology ones) have always caught my eye, though I haven't read any of them.

In particular, where is that library? I want one.
there are quicktime interactive panoramic photoscapes of that, and some other libraries a little deeper into the site.
