How about some pre-Friday flash fun? Nothing to win here. Just a lot of bouncing boxes.

It doesn't seem to like me. Or Firefox 1.5.

Yeah, had the same problem here. Or maybe we're both not likable....

Works on my 1.5.

Hm... I'm using 1.5 and it's running fine. If you're using Adblock, be sure to upgrade to the latest version, or your Flash will get blocked (the automatic update didn't work for me).

A nice distraction for a few minutes, which I just happened to need. Thanks.

Ladies throw your drinks up

(Everybody get crunk in the club when it drop)
(In the club start actin' up)
Come on and bounce with me

Works fine for me in FF 1.5 (OS X)... Lots of fun!

Hmm, updated adblock (and everything else), still nothing, just a black page. I suppose I shall never know the joy of bouncy springs and scissors...

Lots of fun, meaningless or no. I like the evolving-optical-illusion effect you can get with the spring slider all the way down and damper all the way up (i.e. lots of spring, no damping).

Holy crap this is awesome.

Note: if you start something moving with little or no damping, then move the Spring slider up and down a bunch, you break it.

I had all kinds of problems with the Firefox upgrade... somewhere during the beta process, something was broken, and many pages (like Google video) wouldn't render.

What I ended up doing was removing Firefox, salvaging my bookmarks.html (in "c:\documents and settings\username\application data\mozilla\firefox\profiles\some random name\bookmarks.html"), erasing the entire Mozilla folder, and reinstalling. That fixed everything right up. You'll, ahem, toss your cookies by doing this... you may be able to save the cookies.txt file too. But I cared only about my bookmarks.

This is a cute link. There's enough blocks that, if you're patient, you can make a passable spiderweb. The cut-spring tool is annoyingly random, however, so if you do like I did... build a basic lattice, add in the spiderweb, and then remove the lattice... you'll get a lot of wrong cuts and will have to reattach many springs.

Note that you can also do multiple springs if you want a given one to 'pull harder' than other ones.

Yeah, I blew it up too. But I did that by adding about twenty springs between the middle block and one of the anchor blocks. It pulled the whole web off the screen and then crashed my browser.

A few thousand more nodes, a blue background, and some springs that explode under tension, and you've got a great dynamic logo for MetaFilter.

Neat. But with no score or anything how am I supposed to compare myself to other mefites and figure out who is a better human being?

But with no score or anything...
At first glance I thought you meant "musical score". Now that would be cool.

Stupendous! For awhile I was worried that I wouldn't have anything to prevent me from going to sleep and monopolize my every waking moment! Thank god that was solved.

Seriously, this is fantastic. Tons of fun to be had.

Doesn't work for me (FF 1.5, Flash 8). I can drag the boxes OK but can't cut or create springs. What gives?
