The AP takes a stab at the meaning of life. Why do so many people associate meaning with a certain kind of food? No wonder this country is obese.

The chance that any concept external to the universe would have any conceivable meaning or application to our human lives, or even be discoverable by us, is so remote, that the only fundamental meaning of our lives must be those things which most commonly bring us all a sense of happiness and wellbeing: knowledge, affection, and a good variety of experiences. As well as, of course, Stayin' Alive.

For some reason I had to log in to read that. Also, the AP isn't taking a stab at it, the AP is highlighting someone else who is taking a stab at it.

Anyway. How delightfully judgmental of you.

To destroy your enemies, raze their villages and hear the lamentations of their women.

I like the clip art they used to illustrate reading the book and contemplating existence.

"what's the meaning of life" is an uninteresting, incoherent question.

loquacious's and ab'd's answers are better than any cited in the article.

I'm still trying to grasp "any concept external to the universe". Now that's existential.
