Gore parties the night away...

Gore parties the night away... even though he lost. According to the article, Jon Bon Jovi was so upset at the boring party they originally had that he called up some friends and announced there was a "Party at Gore's House!!" The cover photo and interior shots from the Daily News have Gore looking as if he had one hell of a time.

Many's the time Jon Bon Jovi has saved a boring party.

I recall attending a wedding with him around the time he did a cameo in Young Guns II. The reception was a dire event: a crap covers band abusing Commodores tunes, the best man gave a speech that would bore even the most bookish of accountants and due to a bad curry at the hens night most of the female guests had gone home sick.

I was about to suggest we leg it to the pub down the road when the Bonge got up from his table and asked the father of the bride where the phone was. He disappeared for 10 minutes and when he came back there was a sly grin on his face.

Less than fifteen minutes later the place was pumping - the band had been booted off the stage a replace with an ensemble of Byran Adams, the Edge, Tico Torres and Debbie Harry. As usual Jon had convinced some of his model friends to turn up, Elle MacPherson got so drunk I had to put her up at my flat which was just around the corner.

You may not like his music, but Jon Bon Jovi is a hero when the party's a dud.

Hmmm... [takes mental note] must remember to invite him to my new year's eve party

Gore's partying and Bush is busy working hard. I can here Dubya now, "Hey, wait a minute! Maybe a hand recount wasn't such a bad idea."

You know, it's a pleasant comment on the metafilistines that we don't even blink at the idea that one of us might be buddies with Jon Bon Jovi.

"The Bonge", indeed. :-)

Are you serious? For all we know, Kevin Spacey probably visits and posts in his trailer, Lucas visits during shooting breaks, and the Wachowskis are all on MeFi. :)

Actually, I was willing to buy the entire story until he had a supermodel crashing at his pad. Too bad; I wouldn't have minded some bootleg MP3's of the jam session.

I believe based on his user name Foaf (friend of a friend) that he is lying. You can always say I heard it from a friend of a friend.

Oh, I don't know, just the other day I was chatting with Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington, apparently Elle's doing that all the time...
Would Byran Adams be Bryan's literary brother?

Can't check his weblog at foaf.editthispage.com -- I'm having serious issues today, can't get to many west coast sites. (Power emergency related?)

Umm... isn't Metafilter a west coast site? :-)

Actually, my use of foaf is based on a childhood nickname unfortunately revived by my Mother when I was university. But the other definition does seem to fit quite well given my earlier post.

Cleaner at a pub. Some Sunday mornings were just as dangerous.

I have seen Foaf's weblog today so it works, and it is cool. I just thought that his post and his username (perhaps coincidentally) fit together. I still think he made up the story though, and I am angry that I didn't make it up first.

Great, now I have "Living on a Prayer" stuck in my head. Oh well, I'll just have to drive it out with some Shellac or Headcoats.

Didn't we see this same post-defeat image change in Bob Dole four years ago? (Okay, maybe without Jon Bon...)

So when does AG2K start doing commercials? I just hope to ghod that we don't have to hear about his genitalia.

Inevitable Salon Gore wins by losing link. And for all my protestations, I agree. When John Major won in 1992, he set the script for the Tories' self-immolation in 1997. Bush may inherit the same poison chalice.

Foaf, you can invite Elle or Jon over to my place any time.

Gore parties hard!

I think the brunette in the first and third photos is Gore’s daughter (She could be a carbon copy of Tipper). The second one is great: Gore, Tom Petty, Jon Bon Jovi. Gore is drinking a Heineken (natch).
