The current RISKS Digest

The current RISKS Digest carries a manifesto of sorts from Peter Neumann (of RISKS), Lauren Weinstein (of PRIVACY DIGEST) and Rebecca Mercuri (one of the AT&T voting wonks, if memory serves) on the dangers of electronic and Internet voting in the current technological milieu. Let's fix the problems, yes, but let's not create worse ones in the process.

These might attract your average 12-year old hacker, but not the pros who wait for production systems for their carefully mounted attacks.

Oh yeah. Why root the system and sniff the entire network for more 'interesting' traffic to own the entire network, when I can just wait until they put those production boxes online? Very interesting marketing spatter.
